Beyonce a fost copleșită de emoții după ce a depășit-o pe Alison Krauss, cea care a deținut până acum recordul feminin în cadrul galei Premiilor Emmy. După Beyonce, cele mai premiate artiste au fost Taylor Swift și Billie Eilish.

Albumul Folklore la care Taylor Swift a lucrat în perioada de carantină a câștigat categoria cel mai bun album al anului. Billie Eilish a fost desemnată câștigătoare la categoria înregistrarea anului cu piesa Everything I Wanted.

Ceremonia de anul acesta a fost prezentată de Trevor Noah. Așa cum s-a întâmplat și la gala Globurilor de Aur, și ceremonia Premiilor Emmy s-a desfășurat diferit anul acesta. Au existat reprezentații live, dar și înregistrări de la interpretăți de renume mondial.
